LG Washer OE Code: Not Draining
Updated
Short answer
What OE means
In LG's words, condensed: a draining issue: the drain hose is clogged, kinked or pinched (LG).
What LG says to try
- Check the drain hose for clogs and kinks.
- Make sure the drain is no more than 53 inches above the floor; LG says the washer cannot push water higher.
- Clean the drain filter. To drain the washer first, select Rinse+Spin and press Extra Rinse five times until Spin Only lights; if that fails, LG says to remove the drain tube from the inner left side of the door and drain it into a shallow pan.
Unplug the appliance or switch off its breaker before reaching into any part of it. Codes and steps vary by model, so check your manual too.
If the code comes back
A clear hose and filter with a repeating OE points at the drain pump. A washer drain pump replacement runs $150 to $400. (Angi, washing machine repair cost (updated Jul 31, 2026))
